Walters Receives Statewide Nurse Educator Award

Sharon Walters, associate professor and program coordinator in the School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), recently received a DAISY Nurse Educator Award from the Arkansas Nurses Association (ARNA). This award, which was presented to Walters at the ARNA 2024 Gala and DAISY Awards in Little Rock, Arkansas, recognizes her outstanding contributions as an educator in the field of nursing. UAM ESports Claims Historic First Championship Title

UAM Dean and Chancellor List For Fall 2024 Semester

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) named 349 students to the Dean’s List and 240 students to the Chancellor’s List for the fall 2024 semester, according to Keith Chambliss, UAM’s registrar.
Selection to the Dean’s List requires a student to earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level. Selection to the Chancellor’s List requires a student to earn a grade point average of 4.0 on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level.
Drew County EHC Announces 2025-2026 Scholarship

The Drew County Extension Homemakers Clubs will be offering financial support in the form of two scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year to a student who is a Drew County resident and will be attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
The scholarships will be available at the rate of $1,000 each, paid as $500 per semester and may be applied to tuition, books, and/or room and board. Payments will be made to UAM in parts upon proof of registration for each semester. Application forms for this scholarship are available from the counselors’ offices at Monticello High School, Drew Central High School, and the Financial Aid Office at UAM. Forms can also be obtained from the Drew County Extension Office in the Drew County Courthouse. All entering and current UAM students are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Applications must be received by Hazelene McCray, Drew County Extension Agent by Friday, March 14, 2025. For more information contact the Drew County Extension office at 870-460-6270.
