Fears and rumors of effects of the eclipse causing traffic, cellular, and other disruptions to Arkansas residents proved to be unfounded, Monday, as any extra eclipse traffic that traveled through town appears to have passed through on the weekend, and was minimal on Monday.
MLive spoke to Monticello Mayor Jason Akers, late Monday evening, who commented that Monday seemed like a “normal” day, in Monticello, and added that potential fuel shortages may have been averted by area gas stations and convenience stores scheduling extra fuel shipments, to avoid any outages.
