PARKING PERMITS – Students you may purchase parking permits for $10.00 (cash only) from Mrs. Leek.
You must have your driver’s license, proof of insurance, license plate number and vehicle make and model to purchase a permit. Tags are new this year. You must purchase a new tag in order to park on campus.
REMINDER – Students please return you completed flu forms to the office.
HAT DAY – FCCLA is selling Hat Day stickers on Fridays. Purchase your sticker from Mrs. Vance for $1.00
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING – There will be no after school tutoring next Wednesday, Oct. 12th.
PSAT – The PSAT will be given to all 10th graders on October 19 from 8 until noon. Any juniors wishing to take this test, please see your English teacher or Ms. Atkins by Friday, October 7.
WATER – Mrs. Vance is selling ice cold water for 50 cents. Water may be purchased before school or between classes only.
GROWING IN GRACE – The Growing in Grace Class will meet in Mrs. Birch’s room on Mondays at 4:30. Please drop in for a little refreshment and see what we are all about. See Ms. Birch for details.
DANCE – The after-school dance group meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 in Mrs. Snuffer’s room.
LIBRARY BOOKS – Starting the 2nd nine weeks (Oct. 17) the library will start charging fines for overdue books. So, make sure if you need to renew your book that you do so before your due date.
PIRATE FOOTBALL – Today
Our Pirates will travel to Smackover to play the Buckaroos tonight. Kickoff will be at 7:00 … Be sure to come out and support our Pirates !

PIRATE RACING! Get a team of 2 ( 1 driver and 1 pit crew ), come to Mr. Donham’s room afterschool on Thursdays (4:30 – 5:30) If you have any questions, see Mr. Donham.

Our DC Cross Country teams will travel to Dewitt on Saturday, Oct. 8th to run in the Jordan Murphy Memorial Meet. Run Pirates Run !!!
DRIVERS TEST – Students if you plan to take your driver’s test, you will need to stop by the counselors’ office and fill out a request form for the necessary paperwork.
CAP MEETING – Wednesday, Oct. 26th
This month’s CAP meeting will be on Wed. Oct. 26th during 3rd period.
Reminder – There are ACT practice tests and test dates outside of the counselor’s office.

Voice of Democracy Scholarship $30,000 -For students 9-12 grades – Deadline-November 30th
2016 Cutler-Bell Prize for High School Computing –Seniors Only – $10,000 reward for creating an artifact that engages modern computing technology and computer science. Instructions are in the counselor’s office.
American Soybean Association Scholarship for a Senior who wants to pursue a degree in Agriculture. The award is a $5,000. Application is online only. Please stop by the counselor’s office and pick up more information or Mrs. Steinman’s room.
The Arkansas State University Rep will be here Oct 7 at 10:00 in the library. If you would like to meet with her please sign up in the counselor’s office or with Mrs. Steinman.
The Daughters of American Revolution scholarship is for any senior who is interested. Applications can be picked up in the counselor’s office or see Mrs. Steinman.
Arkansas Tech University will be here Friday at 10 a.m. in the library, please sign up in the counselor’s office if you wish to attend.
The Arkansas Chamber Singer organization is offering a vocal/choral scholarship of up to $1,000. You have to major in music in college to receive this scholarship.
Drew Central will be taking 11th and 12 graders on a trip to Crossett to visit the UAM College of Technology. Please sign up in the counselor’s office by November, 10th.
Any Junior or Senior interested in touring SAU Tech should sign up in the counselor’s office. The tour will be November 10th. You must sign up by November 1st.
