“MTOWN SHOWDOWN” RIVAL WEEK
Students show your support for our Pirates by dressing up this week. The themes for each day are as follows:

Today – Merry Christmas Monday – Wear your favorite tacky Christmas sweater.
Tuesday – Team Tuesday – Wear a jersey to support your favorite team.
Wednesday – Wacky Tourist Wednesday – Wear your tackiest tourist clothes.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday- Wear apparel from your favorite decade.
Friday – Foe Friday – Dress like our rivals, the Billies ! (Goats, Farmers, or just wear blue)

M3 TEAM – The M3 Team will meet in Mrs. Brown’s classroom each Wednesday after school.
WATER – FCCLA will be selling cold water in Mrs. Vance’s room. Cost is 50 cents per bottle. Please do NOT interrupt Mrs. Vance’s classes to purchase water.

SCRAPBOOKING – Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s Mrs. Snuffer will be holding a scrapbooking class on Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s from 3:30 to 5:30 in her room.

English Tutoring – Mondays & Wednesdays There will be English tutoring on Mondays & Wednesdays in Mrs. Metzer’s room *#506) from 3:30 – 5:30.

CANDY GRAMS – The art club will be selling candy grams to celebrate the Christmas season. You can get two candy canes for $1 to send to your friends. See an art club member or Mrs. Meier to purchase!

POWER PUFF CHAMPIONSHIP – On Monday, December 14th, we will be having Drew Central’s Powder Puff Championship, there will be sign ups outside the office for ladies interested in participating, please see Coach Moore more details.
TRACK & FIELD – Anyone interested in participating in Sr. High Track and Field, please stop by between classes to sign up in the HS office. If you have any questions, please see Coach Moore during lunch or between classes.
CHRISTMAS CAROLS – Please make plans to attend an evening of Christmas carols beginning at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, December 11. All choirs will be performing so be sure to come out and support our students and get into the Christmas spirit!
FCCLA MEETING – Tuesday, Dec. 8
FCCLA will have a meeting Tuesday, December 8 during lunch.
BETA CLUB MEETING – Wednesday
Beta club meeting on Wednesday during lunch in Mr. Wilmoth’s room. If you would like a lunch tray, please sign the list on the journalism door.

STUDENTS – In the mornings, if the temperature is above 40 degrees and if the wind chill is above freezing, students are to remain outside. Of course they may come in when it’s raining, snowing, sleeting, etc.
YEARBOOK – The 2016 yearbook is now on sale. Purchase your yearbook before December 18 and receive a free personalization. Cost is $50. See any staff member or Ms. Atkins to order yours today.

TRACK & FIELD MEETING – TUESDAY, DEC. 8
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, December 8, at 6:00 pm in the MP Gym for parents of those interested in participating in Track and Field. If you have any questions, please see Coach Moore.

GROWING IN GRACE CLASS – Tuesday’s
Growing in Grace will begin meeting at 4:00 instead of 4:30 every Tuesday. Come and enjoy the partnership in poise.

DRIVERS TEST – Students if you plan to take your written driver test, you will need to stop by the counselors’ office and fill out a request form. Please allow a week’s notice for your paperwork.

HAT DAY – Friday is hat day! Purchase your hat day sticker from Mrs. Vance. Cost is $1.00.
REMINDER – During lunch all food and drink should be taken to the cafeteria. You are not to take any cups or plates from the cafeteria.
PIRATE BASKETBALL – Today – GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED !!!!
The DC Basketball teams will travel to Dollarway to play the Cardinals this evening. Teams playing are 7th Grade Girls, and 7th Grade Boys, Jr. Girls and Jr. Boys. Games will start at 4:30. Please come out and support our Pirates !

LUNCH INFORMATION – Students, if you bring your lunch, or someone drops your lunch off for you. You MUST eat it in the cafeteria. This includes chips and a drink. All food must be eaten in the cafeteria. Also, students are NOT allowed in their vehicles during lunch.

CELLPHONE REMINDER – Students, remember that cell phones and other electronic devices are to be used before school, during lunch, and after school only! They are not to be out during class OR in between classes.

Cafeteria Reminder – Students should not use their cell phones or wear headphones/earphones while waiting in line to turn in your lunch number to staff.
REMINDER – Students there will be zero tolerance for sagging. Sagging is defined in the handbook as wearing the waistband of slacks, pants or shorts below the natural waistline. Sagging will be determined by the outer-most layer of clothing.
!!THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM LATELYL!!
Attention Students – Loitering in the parking lot after school will NOT be tolerated! If you attend tutoring or other after school activities you need to get to your destination in a timely manner. Tutoring/Remediation students need to wait on the front porch till tutoring begins.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER
Students may begin signing up for schedule changes today. The list will be outside the counselor’s office on the table. Please print your name clearly. Ms. Cathy will begin calling in students later in the week.

American Legion High School Oratorical Contest Deadline Dec. 31 Open to 9th – 12th graders.
Arkansas State Society DAR Scholarship Deadline Jan 8
American Legion Coudret Trust Foundation Scholarship and the Garner Trust Foundation Scholarship. (Seniors only, Must be a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild on an American Legionnaire) Deadline March 14.
