ATTENTION OEC STUDENTS – When morning OEC students return to campus third period, they are to report to the library until the bell rings for 4th period. Afternoon OEC students will report to Ms. James in Room 128 from 1:04-1:24.
REMINDER – Students are not to go into the multi-purpose building or the vocational building during lunch. If students need to use the restroom or to get water, they are to go to the high school building or the south end of the Math/Science building.
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING – The 21st CCLC after school program has begun. Join us for fun enrichment activities, tutoring or homework help.
GOLDEN LUNCH PASS SWEEPSTAKES -Enter to win the “Golden Lunch Pass Sweepstakes”. Each morning that you come to breakfast in the CIV room you can enter your name in the drawing. The winner will receive a golden pass that will allow them to go the front of the lunch line for a week. No more waiting! Drawing will be held each Friday. Stop by and grab some breakfast and enter to win!
Attention Seniors! Retakes for senior pictures will be Sept. 29. ONLY STUDENTS WHO DID NOT TAKE THEIR PICTURES THIS SUMMER WILL BE CALLED OUT FOR RETAKES. AGAIN, ONLY STUDENTS WHO DID NOT TAKE THEIR PICTURES THIS SUMMER WILL BE CALLED OUT FOR RETAKES. If you took your pictures and want to retake certain poses, you must see Ms. Atkins by Sept. 24 to have your name added to the list.
NOTICE – Students, if you bring your lunch or someone drops your lunch off for you, you MUST eat it in the cafeteria. This includes chips and a drink. All food must be eaten in the cafeteria.
Attention Students – All students are to remain outside in the morning and during lunch until the bell rings for you to come in.
PSAT – The PSAT will be given to interested juniors Wednesday, October 15. The cost is $15. The PSAT provides entry into the National Merit Scholarship Program as well as other scholarship programs. Students should check with parents to see if their companies participate. Sophomores may want to take the test for practice. We only have 15 tests, so get your fee paid soon.
CELLPHONE REMINDER – Students, remember that cell phones and other electronic devices are to be used before school, during lunch, and after school only! They are not to be out during class changes.
FCCLA – Any student interested in joining FCCLA should pay dues to Mrs. Vance no later than September 19. Our National Cluster Meeting will be held in Little Rock this year, so be thinking of fund raising ideas. See Mrs. Vance if you plan to join.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLES CLASS – Mrs. Vance’s after-school Healthy Lifestyles Class will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. Bring your tennis shoes and join us for exercise and food!!!
Attention Students – If you need a form and transcript for your driver’s license you must pick up a request, fill it out and return it to Ms. Colbert one week before you need them for the test. We will not give you the paperwork on the morning of the test, at the last minute.
FBLA MEETING – All interested, current or past business students in joining FBLA….there will be a short sign-up meeting Friday, Sept. 5 in Ms. Birch’s classroom during lunch period. Bring your lunch.
BLOOD DRIVE – Thursday, Sept. 4
Blood Drive is today ! Reminder, sixteen year old students MUST have their signed consent form and all donors are required to have an ID. Every donation touches the lives of three people so please give blood today.
UAM College Day – Friday, Sept. 12th
The juniors and seniors will be going to UAM for College Day on Friday, September 12. We will leave at 8:15 and return 9:15.
PARKING PERMITS – Students, you may make arrangements to purchase your parking permits from Mr. Canard or see him after school. Cost is $10.00
PIRATE FOOTBALL – Sept. 5
Our DC Pirates will travel to Hampton to play the Bull Dogs on Friday, Sept. 5th. Kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to come out and support our Pirates !
Cafeteria Reminder – Students should not use their cell phones or wear headphones/earphones while waiting in line to turn in your lunch number to staff.
YEARBOOKS – The 2014 yearbooks are here ! Get yours today for only $46, while supplies last. See Ms. Atkins or any journalism student to purchase.
REMINDER – Students there will be zero tolerance for sagging. Sagging is defined in the handbook as wearing the waistband of slacks, pants or shorts below the natural waistline. Sagging will be determined by the outer-most layer of clothing.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – HAT DAY!!!! – FCCLA will be selling HAT DAY stickers on Fridays for $1.00, see Mrs. Vance or an FCCLA member to purchase your sticker.
Attention Students – Loitering in the parking lot after school will NOT be tolerated! If you attend tutoring or other after school activities you need to get to your destination in a timely manner. Tutoring/Remediation students need to wait on the front porch till tutoring begins.
