FBLA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE – Attention all interested past and present business students…..FBLA membership drive will continue through Thursday, Oct. 30…..dues are $20. If you join by then, you will be a part of our Halloween membership party on Oct. 31.  See Ms. Birch to join.

 

PICTURES RETAKES – Monday, Nov. 10th

There will be retakes for school pictures on Monday, Nov. 10th.

 

SOFTBALL – Any 9th-12th grade girl interested in playing softball this season will need to attend a MANDATORY meeting TODAY during lunch in the library. If you do not attend this meeting you will not be allowed to try-out.

ZUMBA – The high school after school program is having Zumba on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Anyone who wants to work out can attend. It will be in the auditorium this week.

Attention – Students are not to sell items at school unless it is for an approved school fundraiser.

 

EAST PROJECT – Seniors whenever you get the opportunity and your teacher’s permission, please come by EAST Lab to have your photo taken for an ongoing EAST project.

ATTENTION SENIORS – Start bringing baby photos and middle school photos to EAST Lab ! We are getting a head start on the senior slide show for graduation. Also, if you have group pictures you would like in the slideshow, bring them also !

CELLPHONE REMINDER – Students, remember that cell phones and other electronic devices are to be used before school, during lunch, and after school only! They are not to be out during class changes.

 

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES CLASS – Mrs. Vance’s after-school Healthy Lifestyles Class will meet on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s each week. Bring your tennis shoes and join us for exercise and food!!!

 

BLOOD DRIVE – Thursday

Teachers and Students- LifeShare Blood Center will be here on October 30th for the second blood drive of the school year. Sign-ups will be conducted this week during your English class. We still need 94 units to meet our goal so that a senior has the opportunity for a scholarship. If you do not have a chance to sign up during class stop by Mrs. Oxner’s office and do so. Every donation touches the lives of three people so please sign up today!

 

PIRATE FOOTBALL – Friday

Our DC Pirates will travel to Fouke on Friday to play the Panthers. Players will be dismissed at 12:30. Kick-off will be at 7:00p.m.   Be sure to come out and support our Pirates !

 

YEARBOOKS – The 2014 yearbooks are here ! Get yours today for only $46, while supplies last. See Ms. Atkins or any journalism student to purchase.

REMINDER – Students there will be zero tolerance for sagging. Sagging is defined in the handbook as wearing the waistband of slacks, pants or shorts below the natural waistline. Sagging will be determined by the outer-most layer of clothing.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND –   HAT DAY!!!!  -  FCCLA will be selling HAT DAY stickers on Fridays for $1.00, see Mrs. Vance or an FCCLA member to purchase your sticker.

SHOOTING SPORTS – The after school program is looking at starting a Youth Shooting Sports Program. If you think you might be interested in learning and competing in skeet shooting sign up in Ms. Edmonds office and pick up information.

COUNSELORS CORNER

 

The after school program will be providing dinner to students who attend the program in the afternoon. Supper trays will be given out to students at 4:30 each afternoon. For the first week 75 meals will be ordered. If you think you may want a dinner you must sign the list in the counselor’s office and check the days you want to eat.

American Legion Garner Trust Scholarship and Cadet Scholarships: Senior must be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an American Legionnaire. Applications are in the counselor’s office.

The Arkansas State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Deadlines Nov. 14. Copies are in Ms. Cathy’s office.
