Attention – Cheerleaders are selling skulls like the ones you see painted in the parking lot in front of the High School for $25. See any cheerleader to purchase, if you would like on with your name or club.
Attention Seniors! Retakes for senior pictures will be Sept. 29. ONLY STUDENTS WHO DID NOT TAKE THEIR PICTURES THIS SUMMER WILL BE CALLED OUT FOR RETAKES.
ATTENTION – The Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts will be on campus Oct 16 to visit with interested 9th and 10th graders at 9:00 a.m. Sign-up sheets will be in the English teacher’s classrooms.

Attention – Students are not to sell items at school unless it is for an approved school fundraiser.

PSAT – The PSAT will be given to interested juniors Wednesday, October 15. The cost is $15. The PSAT provides entry into the National Merit Scholarship Program as well as other scholarship programs. Students should check with parents to see if their companies participate. Sophomores may want to take the test for practice. We only have 15 tests, so get your fee paid soon.
FCCLA MEETING – Monday
There will be an FCCLA meeting Monday during lunch. It is vital that all members attend.
EAST PROJECT – Seniors whenever you get the opportunity and your teacher’s permission, please come by EAST Lab to have your photo taken for an ongoing EAST project.
ATTENTION SENIORS – Start bringing baby photos and middle school photos to EAST Lab ! We are getting a head start on the senior slide show for graduation. Also, if you have group pictures you would like in the slideshow, bring them also !
CELLPHONE REMINDER – Students, remember that cell phones and other electronic devices are to be used before school, during lunch, and after school only! They are not to be out during class changes.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES CLASS – Mrs. Vance’s after-school Healthy Lifestyles Class will meet on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s each week. Bring your tennis shoes and join us for exercise and food!!!

Juniors and Seniors: UAPB is having a fall preview day Saturday, Sept 27. Check out the flyer in your English class if you are interested.
PIRATE TENNIS – SATURDAY
Our Pirate tennis team will have a Play Day on Saturday with McGehee, Fordyce and Lake Village. Games will state at 9:00 am. Come out and support our Pirates !

Attention Students – If you need a form and transcript for your driver’s license you must pick up a request, fill it out and return it to Ms. Colbert one week before you need them for the test. We will not give you the paperwork on the morning of the test, at the last minute.
LET’S GET GROWING – Let’s Get Growing has begun. Anyone interested in helping in the gardens around the school, please come to Ms. James’. We will meet in Ms. James’ room at 3:30 each Monday.
WATER – Did you know that a well hydrated brain functions better than a dehydrated brain ? FCCLA wants to help your brain stay hydrated. You many purchase water out of Mrs. Vance’s room to help your brain stay hydrated. 50 cents a bottle !
PARKING PERMITS – Students, you may make arrangements to purchase your parking permits from Mr. Canard or see him after school. Cost is $10.00
JR. Pirate Football – Thursday
Our Jr. Pirates will travel to Lake Village to play the Beavers on Thursday. Kick-off will be 5:30. Please come out to support our Pirates !

Our DC Pirates will travel to Lake Village to play the Beavers on Friday. Kick-off will be at 7:30 p.m. Be sure to come out and support our Pirates !

Cafeteria Reminder – Students should not use their cell phones or wear headphones/earphones while waiting in line to turn in your lunch number to staff.
YEARBOOKS – The 2014 yearbooks are here ! Get yours today for only $46, while supplies last. See Ms. Atkins or any journalism student to purchase.
REMINDER – Students there will be zero tolerance for sagging. Sagging is defined in the handbook as wearing the waistband of slacks, pants or shorts below the natural waistline. Sagging will be determined by the outer-most layer of clothing.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – HAT DAY!!!! – FCCLA will be selling HAT DAY stickers on Fridays for $1.00, see Mrs. Vance or an FCCLA member to purchase your sticker.
Attention Students – Loitering in the parking lot after school will NOT be tolerated! If you attend tutoring or other after school activities you need to get to your destination in a timely manner. Tutoring/Remediation students need to wait on the front porch till tutoring begins.

Reminder To Students – Caps, hats, visors, scarves, headbands, bandannas, and sunglasses are NOT allowed to be worn a school.
UAM Senior Preview Day – UAM will have a Senior Preview Day on Oct. 11 @ 10 am. You must register by Oct 4. Information in Ms. Steinman’s room and the counselor’s office.

COUNSELORS CORNER

9th – 12th graders are not to go to the middle school after school program for any reason. There are math tutors for you at the high school and Ms. Luper will begin working everyday beginning Monday. If you are reported being over there you will receive detention hall. If you cannot find a tutor see Ms. Edmonds or Mr. Canard
