City Flags at Half Staff in Memory of Dr. Tim Chase – Edited
April 18th, 2016 by iPhoneFriday, Mayor Zack Tucker signed a proclamation ordering the Flag of the City to be placed at half-staff in memory of City Alderman, and local dentist, Tim Chase who passed away Friday.
Dr. Chase’s funeral service will be held today.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson ordered U.S. Flags lowered to half staff in memory of Senator Ray Thornton, earlier this week.
Outside of his local dental practice, Chase was active in many groups and organizations over the years; including serving on Monticello’s City Council, 2004-present. Dr. Chase also served the community by coaching youth baseball, softball, and soccer, worked as city pool manger, served on the Industrial Development Committee, Chamber of Commerce Board, the American Cancer Society Board, and Monticello Schools Foundation; to name a few. He continued to be active as a Rotary Club member, serving as a past President, and an active member of Monticello’s First Baptist Church.
His professional dental affiliations include member of the International College of Dentists, American Dental Association, former President of the Southeast District Dental Society, board member of the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners, former President of the Arkansas State Dental Association, Medicaid Task Force, alternate delegate to the ADA Annual Session, and a charter board member of the Arkansas Mission of Mercy where he was the Local Coordinator.
He received many honors and awards in his 54 years; some of the most recent were being named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International and Arkansas State Dental Association’s Distinguished Service Award.
Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
