Jury duty has been cancelled for Friday, March 4.

Jurors do not need to report.

Today is one of those rare days when the numeric date is the same forward and backward.

The next occurrence will be in 11 years, one month, and one day from now.

At 4 pm, Thursday, Drew county OEM and Sheriffs Deputies responded to assist the Arkansas Forestry Commission battling a woods fire between the Selma and Collins communities on the county road between them. (more…)

According to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, MPD and 1st Baptist Church of Monticello recently completed the first Senior Security Course. The course is a joint endeavor between MPD and First Baptist that is designed at providing financial, physical and home security tips, training and insight to Monticello’s senior citizens and elderly residents.

Drew County Sheriffs Deputies used spike strips to end a high-speed chase, estimated to reach around 100 MPH, Monday morning at 1:55, south of the UAM entrance, on HWY 425.  The car has been reported stolen out of Little Rock. (more…)

MonticelloLive again sponsored the Santa Train at the Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade, where hundreds of youngsters, along with parents and grandparents celebrated Christmas activities.

We also donated toys, again, to the Junior Auxiliary Christmas Toy Drive, at Ryburn Motor Company.
