Dr. Voelker
Monticello Police Dept. did a round-up of local “alleged scoundrels” accused of everything from “exceeding the daily Dr. Pepper limit” to a wide variety of other charges.
The friendly folks that agreed to be “arrested”, then had to call friends to raise their “bail”, with all funds being donated to Relay for Life.
The project was sponsored by the “911 Lifesavers” team, which includes MPD, Monticello Fire Dept. EMT’s and other first responders. A total of over $4600 has been raised by the project, and more funds are still being collected.
Shown here are Mayor Allen Maxwell, attorney Sara Hartness, Police Chief Robert Rosegrant, MPD’s Steven Stain, MPD clerk Ginger Norris, Ryburn Automotive Superstore’s Ben Philley, and “the MonticelloLive guy” Joe Burgess.
Elizabeth Echols, Kylee Young and McKenzie Zieman celebrated their 13th birthday last Saturday with a formal dance.
The girls idea for the theme of the dance waS to raise money for the Relay for Life. Instead of a gift, each girl asked their friends to bring a donation for The Relay for Life, to support the American Cancer Society.
This donation is in memory of their friends’ Mom, India Pace who passed away last year with breast cancer. The amount that was collected was $851.00 This will be given during the Relay in April.
Special thanks to Carita Ryburn, Stephanie Wright, and each of the girls’ moms for the decorations, and Paul Griffin for spinning the records. Photos at the event were taken by Laura McNeese.
The night was a BLAST !!!
