This week, the library wrapped up their summer reading program for 2018 with Mr. Marty Boone the magic balloon man!

We announced the winners of the rock painting contest as well as the 2 grand prize winners who completed all requirements for the contest.

This program includes rod & reels that you can use for a week and return to the library. Bait and tackle are not included.

The Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) is pleased to announce that Judy Calhoun, Director for the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library has been elected to its board.

ARSL is a national organization of over 700 people whose mission is to provide a network of people and materials to support rural and small library staff, volunteers and trustees to integrate the library thoroughly with the life and work of the community it serves.

Judy Calhoun was recently named Director of the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library. Ms. Calhoun began her library career in Star City, where she was the Branch Manager for 14 years.

According to SalineRiverChronicle.com, an Apparent Murder/Suicide is being investigated as the cause of death of Kim and Sandra Patterson, of Warren.

Mr. Patterson was the director of the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library System, and a very important part of the recent drive, which has led to the upcoming construction of the new Monticello Branch Library.
