US Senator John Boozman visited Drew Memorial Hospital, Thursday, and visited with staff as well as touring the facility, on his trip through the state to recognize frontline healthcare heroes. Boozman has secured millions of dollars for Arkansas to support the state and local response to COVID-19.

According to ARDOT, Johnsville Sand & Gravel will continue from the 425/278 intersection, milling and overlaying Highway 278 to Wilmar. They will then return to Monticello, doing the same to Gaines & McCloy Streets.
They will then proceed east on Highway 278 past Dead Man’s Curve.

MLive spoke to ARDOT, yesterday, and confirmed that road construction will continue for the next couple of months.

Beginning at 6 PM tonight, and continuing until approximately 6 AM, Tuesday morning, ARDOT will be performing maintenance at the 278/425 intersection, near Ray’s & Walgreens.
Traffic will be detoured, and occasionally stopped, as needed, for grinding and overlaying.
Please prepare for this, as you plan your evening activities.
Workers and barricades will be present, so please use caution.

The Drew County Courthouse, Road Department & Landfill will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.
Friday’s trash will be picked up on Thursday with the regular Thursday route.
The Landfill will not open on the first Saturday in July since it falls on the 4th. They will instead open July 11th from 8:00-12:00, weather permitting.

Late Monday, County Judge Robert Akin announced that the Drew County Courthouse will be open for business, but not open to the public until further notice, due to a confirmed case of COVID-19, late last week.
Residents who need to contact county offices can call or email, in order to take care of their business.
The main number is 460-6200. A directory of office extensions is included.
The County Ext. Office will be working remotely.

The Drew County Courthouse will be closed until further notice, possibly as early as Monday afternoon, pending results from an “all employee COVID-19 testing” event, following a positive test from an employee.
The County Sheriffs office will not be affected by this closure. All offices are closed, and employees will not return to work, until they are cleared and “Covid free”
