The attached photo shows how slick the roads were late yesterday.

ARDOT has treated their main roads, as seen by the other photo, so some main highways are actually in better condition, today.

With that being said, outlying highways, and county roads are slick, according to Judge Griffin, early this morning.

Residents are asked to stay home, if possible, due to more predicted, freezing precipitation, later today.

The Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting event on Thursday, for the Grand Opening of H&R Block in their new location at 514 West Gaines Street. (more…)

Shortly after 6 AM, this morning, 936, local Entergy customers lost electricity, mainly in the Highway 425 S. area.

UAM and Drew Central may be dark, but classes are still in session.

A collection of Entergy trucks and employees are gathered on S. Main St., south of Midway Route, working on the situation.

This Christmas, a few of the employees of Belle View Rehabilitation and Care Center began decorating the halls as a means of spreading Christmas cheer with the elders. Soon, it became a full-fledged contest, and the elders have absolutely loved it.

The chilly weather didn’t keep ARDOT from breaking ground on future Interstate 69 in southeast Arkansas, yesterday morning.

The map below show how it affects Drew County.

Kristi Friday, of Monticello, is taking part in the Junior League of Little Rock‘s, annual Holiday House, event, at the Statehouse, Convention Center.

Kristi has been hand-making wreaths and accessories for several years, while performing local shows and festivals.

If you’re in Little Rock, stop by and see her at her booth, Glittered Wreath Company.

The Holiday House shopping event put on by the junior league of Little Rock has a familiar Monticello face participating in the event this year.

Korry Jones of Watercolors by Korry, has a booth filled with Christmas decorations, original art, t-shirts, and a variety of other gifts featuring her artwork.

Easily recognized by her pink displays, Korry has been pursuing art as a career for a little over two years.

For those that may not know, she has a booth at the Marketplace II in Monticello and can be found online at www.watercolorsbykorry.com and also on Instagram and Facebook.

A cat, believed to be a family pet, was rescued from a Western Pines tree, Friday morning, by a local service company’s employee.

Terry, with VYVE cable and internet was the “hero of the day“ for his help.
