Burning Leaves

December 30th, 2012 by

Burning leaves.  Some folks hate it;  many folks do it.

This photo shows one of the larger “leaf piles” that we’ve seen in a while, on Oakland St.

If you burn leaves, please monitor the fire, and keep a water hose close at hand.

  1. ArTravlR says:

Mulching is better for the environment & easier on your back.

  2. Ridiculous says:

I wish there was a burn ban in city limits like they have in Little Rock! I prefer to breathe nice clean air. The leaf burning in this town is ridiculous. It’s EVERY day!

  3. more ridiculous says:

Car exhaust doesn’t smell any better. Should they ban those too?

  4. Walter says:

for those of us with serious sinus conditions the burning is most uncomfortable.

  5. JUST SAYIN says:

A burn ban on leaves should be put in place for the city. Most fires are placed in the ditchs making it hard to drive. The smell and lingering smoke needs to go. Most people are tired of smelling smoke in their homes.JUST SAYIN……………

  6. suzzie says:

i have to close all doors garage and smoke still gets inside we mulch our leaves with mower all the people with alergys suffer why cant the law be enforced to ban burning pine has ban also most of all it is dangerous thats pine bluff if they can do it so can we

  7. Roy says:

Why make such a large pile, smaller piles will burn quicker. This monstrosity will burn for a month. That’s a long time to have to breath & smell burning leaves.

  8. former resident says:

It’s one reason I am glad I no longer live in Monticello. I love the people, but the burning makes me not like being there.
