Overpass Repair Expected Soon, After Being Hit By Skidder Hauler

The Arkansas Department of Transportation is planning to repair the damage done to the HWY 425 overpass, which occurred in mid October, in the very near future (around Thanksgiving).
Tthe heavy bridge division of the department describes the damage to the Monticello Overpass as “cosmetic“ and does not pose any threat or danger to safety.
Specific schedule updates and any construction detour information will be posted as it becomes available.
At approximately 7:30 AM, Friday morning, a northbound log skidder truck was involved in a collision, as the beam part of the skidder was being hauled on a flatbed. The flatbed which was not a drop down flatbed, as shown in the picture below, crashed into the northbound outside lane of the 425/Jordan Drive overpass.
The driver pulled over into the old Fred’s parking lot, where Monticello Police immediately responded, as they were in the area for heavy school traffic.
AHP was notified, But didn’t have officers available in the area. They will be provided documentation by MPD and will contact the trucking company, probably later today.
ARDOT was inspecting the overpass, approximately 10 minutes later, and are expected to have a bridge inspectors in the area, possibly later today.
The driver left, after talking to MPD officers, traveling north on 425, having reportedly lowered the hydraulics on the skidder.
