It was a long and tiring two weekends. The rain and the cold could have been a deterrent and a perfect excuse for the people from Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church not to expect much of a turn out. Instead, their determination did not falter due to their faith and trust in God. It kept them strong and determined. Many months of planning, countless hours of preparations of the facilities and costumes, the hours of practice and faithful work for the needs of the cast (food preparations and keeping people hydrated, motivated all done behind the scenes), the ladies handling the reservations and seating, the sound booth personnel who provided movies for those who were waiting their turn for the tour, the tour guides, persons who helped with publicity, those providing childcare for the little ones of members working in the event, Super Rusty (our do all fix all peron), our church membership for allowing us to do this presentation, and last, but certainly not least …our security team. The members of the church (young and old) pitched in worked as one with one goal….the opportunity to see salvation for just one soul. We weren’t disappointed! Many were saved and the seed was planted for many others and God and those individuals will know that outcome. People came from as far away as Alabama and Houston to see this production. Large and small groups and individuals came from other cities and churches. One gentleman mentioned he had been tried three times before and always arrived too late (as waiting lines were long). But, this time he made it through and said he was so glad he was persistent in coming back. Lives were changed ….as were perspectives. This event only occurs every two years as the time, effort and personnel needed to do such a production with success is far greater than many would expect. As a member of Shady Grove, I am thankful for my church family. I am also thankful for those who took time out of their lives to attend our Heaven Or Hell Drama. I pray that it was a blessing and an eye opener for all who visited. I know I was blessed as a tour guide…being able to see the reactions and changes to many as they moved from one scene to the next. And the emotions that flowed once they reached Heaven. From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone from Shady Grove for doing such a great job again. More importantly, I thank those who blessed us with the presence. For all that happened, God receives all the Glory. Mark your calendars now…..October 2021 will be our next Heaven Or Hell production. God willing, I’ll see you then!
