Near Big Rig Rollover Closes Jefferson & Gabbert

Shortly before 9 AM, Monday morning, the driver of this eastbound turning southbound lumber attempted to turn from Jefferson Street onto Gabbert.
No one was injured, Monticello Police and Drew County OEM are on the scene, working traffic, while Big Wrecker is working to clear the intersection.
Reportedly, the truck is loaded with around 30,000 pounds of wood products.
Please avoid this area due to the closed streets.

City should look at restricting access to trucks in this area. That corner is difficult for regular size trucks to negotiate, let alone big rigs.
