Rep. Wardlaw Tours Agriculture Building Renovations at UAM

On March 18, 2022, Jeff Weaver (UAM vice chancellor for advancement and chief of staff), Rep. Jeff Wardlaw, Dr. Michael Blazier (dean of the UAM College of Forestry, Agriculture & Natural Resources) and Dr. Peggy Doss, (UAM chancellor), toured the renovations in the UAM Agriculture Building on the Monticello campus.

On Friday, March 18, Rep. Jeff Wardlaw, R-Hermitage, visited the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) campus to view progress on renovations to the Agriculture Building, which began in February 2022. (more…)

ACMCDrMarquezJr Ashley County Medical Center welcomes Dr. Jofrances Marquez, Jr. to their team. A native of the Philippines, Dr. Marquez received his medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine in 1998. He completed his residency program at Wayne University in Detroit, Michigan in 2014 after moving to the United States. Dr. Marquez is married to Roselle Tanya Lim Garcia, who is also a physician, and have three children; Raymond, Lucianna, and Nathaniel.

Sustaining Forest Starts with Planting Trees, 82 Acres Replanted of UAM Forests

The University of Arkansas at Monticello replanted it’s 82 acre harvested area of university-owned forest next to the Drew County Fairgrounds. A crew of 10 planted 36,000 seedlings in less than 2 days. Forest Manager Bobby Webb said the last hand-planted trees on the UAM forest were in 2011. (more…)
