The local Monticello post office is in an ongoing roof repair.

The project should be complete, later this month.

No changes in customer service are expected.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Drew County.

The purpose of this project is to resurface approximately 3.5 miles of County Roads 89 and 97 near Plantersville.

Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Company of Pine Bluff was awarded the contract at $440,306.40.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.

The Chicot County Sheriff’s Dept. had a 911 residential burglary call come in at 10:51 PM, Sunday night, from Grand Lake Loop. (more…)

Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation Governing Board of Directors will meet in a regular scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be held at the Lake Village Fire Station, 2017 HWY 65-82 South, in Lake Village, Arkansas. The meeting is open to the public. Market in the Park Farmer’s Market is Open Saturday at the Rodney Shelton Foss Minipark (Usual location on South Main Street).

Market starts at 8:00 a.m. and now runs until noon every Saturday through October.

The Arkansas Cancer Coalition (ACC) is excited to award Mainline Health Systems, Inc. with a grant in the amount of $53,951.76 to implement cancer control efforts that support the Arkansas Cancer Plan. This funding source will help to research the latest cervical cancer information, educate staff and patients on that information, and promote cervical cancer awareness. (more…)
