8th grade Family and Consumer Science students at Monticello Middle School learned how to sew recently.

They sewed simple fleece blankets and donated them to 2nd Chance for Dogs for the upcoming cold months.

According to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force, a Monticello man is facing felony drug charges after Drug Task Force Agents located roughly a quarter pound of ice methamphetamine in his possession.

How to operate a home-based business and how to boost sales are the topics of a pair of free seminars to be hosted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
The first seminar, “Operating a Home-Based Business,” will be held November 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Star City Civic Center. The second seminar, “Boost Your Sales,” will be held December 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the House Room of the John F. Gibson University Center on the UAM campus.
