Most poeple never realize how much we depend on our first responders, especially in weather like we’re having today.

Local residents have the choice of driving in these slick, icy conditions; our emergency workers don’t have that option.

When you pass them at an accident scene, drive with extreme caution, because they are helping someone who may not have used enough caution.

Thanks, guys (and gals) we appreciate all you do for us.

Tuesday morning, a 26 year old Monticello man appeared before Judge Sara Hartness, facing the probable charges of 1st degree battery and aggravated assault, for injuries sustained by his own 9 month old baby.

Six Monticello High School choir members were recently selected to the Arkansas
All-State Choir.  Luke Lane, Gabrielle Causey, Madison Gray,
Maryclaire Guanzon, Ashley Cathey and Brendan Davis. The All-State Music Conference
featured the performances of the state’s best choral and band musicians.

Last March, a 19-year-old Monticello female was charged with filing a false police report against a young man, causing his arrest.

The Monticello Police department is investigating iman I ncident that occurred Sunday, that involves injuries to an eight-month-old baby, possibly by a family member.

Kindergarten registration is March 2-20, 2015 from 8:30-3:30 at Monticello Elementary.

It is very important to register so that your child can be scheduled for the pre-testing in May.
