19 Year Old Arrested for Assaulting His 67 Year Old Grandmother – Update

August 8th, 2012 by

A 19 year old Drew County man remains in jail, following his Sunday arrest for the assaulting his 67 year old grandmother, at her home.

According to Sheriff Mark Gober,

Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 19 year old Bradley Hall, of Monticello, after he allegedly assaulted his 67 year old grandmother in her home Sunday night, August 5th. According to statements obtained at the scene, Bradley Hall had come home intoxicated and became angry and violent towards his grandmother, throwing items in the house, breaking glass in a screen door and eventually attacking her leaving several cuts and scratched on her hands and face.

The constable for the area, who was the first to respond the call by dispatchers, found Hall in the woods near the home. Hall refused to comply with the constable’s order and began fighting with the constable hitting him in his mouth. When Sheriff’s deputies arrived, Hall was again located, arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with domestic battery, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, resisting arrest, fleeing, and assaulting an officer. Hall was taken for a first appearance on Monday, August 6th where he was given a $3,500 bond. He remains in jail at this time.

  1. Concern Person says:

  2. whats wrong with kids today? says:

the bond is to low! what has happened to our youth? ramdom acts of violence is bad enough but this was his Grandmother! What has happened to RESPECT!?

  3. GJ Country says:

This boy needs taught a lesson!!!! DISRESPECTFUL!!!

  4. leslie says:

All those charges and ONLY $3500.00, should be a whole bunch more than that.

  5. Jennifer says:

This just made me sick to my stomach. I agree he needs a higher bond. And a good ole fashion butt whooping!!!

  6. tax payer says:

Youth my butt. He’s 19 years old! When I was 19 I was a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the USN and a communication watch supervisor on a light cruiser. He needs to pick some cotton at Cummings.

  7. saddened says:

This is why we need “spanking” or “paddling” back in our schools. We also need GOD back in our schools as well~!~!

  8. GRANMAW says:

I would of hit that kid with whatever was close…he’s lucky it wasn’t this old women!!! If my kid did that to my Daddy they would be calling seems to pick him up right along with me!! I might go to jail but that kid would get his butt beat for this!!

  9. K says:

I remember when meth first hit the streets. There was a saying about how addicting it is…”A person addicted to meth will beat up their own Grand Mother to get their hands on it “

  10. bud says:

he did not have his backside tore up. What a disrespectful punk. he has not a good butt kicking.

  11. mary hughes says:

that is bad, i know his grandmother, she was my aide and she is a sweet person

  12. Melanie says:

He should have a higher bond. If he was caught stealing it would be high according to an article of a shop lifting ring. This guy hit an elderly lady. There are laws for hitting the elderly. Apparently they did not throw the book at this delinquent!!!

  13. Whitnie says:

Ok how bout some of you need to stop accusing him of being on meth pretty sure you didn’t drug test him so u don’t know why is happened for my family and my grandmother give us some respect and if ur gonna comment don’t put false information on here I have asked once but I guess my comment got deleted.

  14. lucky bob says:

if he had been smoking weed he would had given his grand mother a hug instesd of a slug

  15. Renee says:

She is my kids Grandma as well and I agree with all your comments..his bond is not high enough but this is not the first time he has done this kind of stuff..its just it gets thrown under the rug! And it was worse this time..and he is on probation so he should of been drug tested but like I said its always been a slap on the wrist for him and his dad (Anthony Arl Hall)..

  16. Barbara Benton says:

My heart was saddened to see one of my former students in trouble with the law. When I taught this young man in the fifth grade, he was very respectful. I pray that he will get himself together.

    Ms. “B”

  17. K says:

I never said he WAS on meth, I’m just repeating a well known quote. Ppl can make up their own minds as to why someone would beat up their own Grandma. It’s not like that’s a normal thing to do.

  18. justmyopinion says:

@ Renee – there is a Hot Line that you (or anyone) can call to report adult abuse just like with child abuse. If this is called in to the state, it may not be “thrown under the rug.” Im sure he will be fined when he goes to court (if he is found guilty) but maybe it’s time to get the state involved so this doesn’t happen again.

  19. Renee says:

Yeah they are trying to get him in rehab..please he has been in a punishment facility for like a year and it didn’t help..so I’m real sure rehab will..I was trying to talk to him one day about straighten up are he was gonna end up in prison and his remark was “”yeah I’m gonna go to prison and I’m gonna run it” he really don’t act like he cares..

  20. K says:

Pretty sure you didn’t drug test him either Whitnie

  21. mary hughes says:

the young man needs HELP Real Help. He needs GOD Real bad.

  22. Renee says:

yep..just like i said just a slp on the wrist and out and back at his grandma’s! That’s why they keep doing it till someone gets killed!! Its a shame!!
