The University of Central Arkansas has announcd the Dean’s List and Presidential Scholars for the spring 2020 semester.
Recognition on the Dean’s List or as a Presidential Scholar is based on grades earned during each semester of the regular academic year.
Eligibility on the Dean’s List requires at least a 3.5 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours. Students must achieve a 4.0 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours to qualify for recognition as a Presidential Scholar.

The Drew County Courthouse will be closed until further notice, possibly as early as Monday afternoon, pending results from an “all employee COVID-19 testing” event, following a positive test from an employee.
The County Sheriffs office will not be affected by this closure. All offices are closed, and employees will not return to work, until they are cleared and “Covid free”

Due to the closing of the Drew County Courthouse, Monday, Circuit Court will be held in the Justice Building, at 107 E. Jackson St., in the old library.
Minutes before 6 PM, a trained spotter in Ashley County recognized a funnel cloud, from a wall cloud in the Longview area, moving into Drew County.
Hard rain hit Monticello at 6:10, accompanied by a very strong winds.

Wednesday at lunch, members and staff of Shady Grove Baptist Church prepared a fish fry for the Monticello Police Department, inviting officers from other departments to join in, as well.
Someone described the event as “a way to show our local police officers that although hard work and dedication aren’t shown in the national media, they are appreciated by the residents of Monticello and Drew County.”

Saturday, around 6 PM, the driver of this Toyota 4runner was traveling from Warren towards Wilmar, when they crossEd the centerline and ran into the north ditch, overturning the vehicle.
No injuries were reported, the accident was investigated by the Drew County Sheriff’s Department.

Recently, SeaArk Boats hosted their annual employee luncheon at SeaArk Boats in Monticello. The event consisted of a Yard Pong tournament, various prize giveaways, employee of the quarter announcement, lunch, and the yearly boat giveaway.
President Steve Henderson stated, “We are proud of the hard work and dedication that our employees show every day. This event allows us to give back to them and to say thank you. We do several other events throughout the year but enjoy getting to spend the day with our employees.” We gave away over $800 in prizes not including our biggest giveaway, a SeaArk Boat.
