Ava Moyers has been named the Arkansas state champion in Microsoft Excel (Office 2019) in the fall qualifiers of the 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) State Championship, presented annually by Certiport. Moyers, of Monticello, Arkansas, is a junior business student at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM).
In addition to winning the competition, Moyers earned an MOS certificate, a globally recognized credential validating proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Her mastery of Excel developed under the guidance of Brennyn Seagler, instructor of business at UAM, while enrolled in the Management Information Systems course. The course is part of a broader initiative within the School of Business at UAM, which first incorporated Microsoft training programs into its curriculum in 2020. Since then, 252 certifications have been earned by students at UAM. The Excel program guides students in understanding the intricacies of the software through interactive scavenger hunts built into worksheets.
