Just before 8 PM, Wednesday night, a local lady and the dog she was walking, and were going for a walk on North Hyatt St. near Parkwood, when they were struck by a northbound car.

The lady was injured, and the pet was killed in the incident.

At the scene, it was believed that the lady was not struck by the vehicle, but rather dragged by the leash that was attached to her dog.

Monticello Police responded.  SEEMS transported the victim to Pine Bluff for treatment to her serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Another pet that was with them, was not injured.
