HamburgHeadlines.com, has confirmed that Wednesday’s telephone outage in Crossett occurred due to road construction near the intersection of Highway 425/82, where a fiber optic cable was accidentally cut.

Both landline and cell phone outages  occurred due to the cut.

The city of Crossett did an excellent job in notifying local businesses about the situation, informing them how to handle crisis situations, and also called out auxiliary officers and other city workers to help with the important public contact issues.

We are told that communications were fully restored around 8:30, Wednesday evening.
