Hall Removed from State Rep. Race for “Deception” in Hot Check Case – Part 3

September 13th, 2016 by

imageA special judge, filling in for all 5 Drew County circuit court judges, agreed with the plaintiff Johnnie Bolin and removed Jim Hall from the race for state representative, district 9.

Judge David Laser’s ruling included the fact that Hall did take a plea that describes his hot check arrest as “intent to defraud. “.  The judge then continued, “any evidence that would be presented today, could have and should have been filed in the District Court;  It has no relevance today.”

As court was being adjourned, Hall began shouting accusations against the plaintiff,  which drew a quick objection from attorney Cliff Gibson, who was present representing Drew County’s interest in the election.

Hall then said that he wished to appeal, but could not, because of his finances. He then stated that he would seek election for state representative the next time around, as an independent or write in.

  1. Curious says:

He will still have the conviction “next time.” It won’t just magically go away. Once you plead guilty, you cannot unplead, as I understand it.
