UAM Rodeo Horse Barn Gets Facelift

Brianna Williams is a first-year student
majoring in Ag Business at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM).  She plans to compete in goat tie, barrel racing, and break-away roping.   She is excited about the fall rodeo schedule and even more excited about the improved horse barn on campus where she’ll house her horse. The West Monroe, Louisiana native said she visited the horse stalls this past spring.     “They were all panel stalls in there, and these, I mean, whoever built them, they are boarded stalls, and I mean, they are perfect stalls in a way. “Super-duper nice,” said Williams of the new horse stalls. “They are some of the nicest stalls I’ve seen.” (more…)

UAMProfessorThe 2022-2023 academic year saw a familiar face return to the classroom full-time at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM). Dr. Morris Bramlett, professor of chemistry at UAM, stepped down from his position as dean of the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences in July 2022 after serving in the role since 2007 so that he could return to his love of teaching. On Tuesday, the memory of Dorothy Shepherd was honored through the presentation of an Agriculture Scholarship to the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources. The scholarship was awarded to Weston Cater of Monticello by Dean Michael Blazier. (more…)

UAM To Offer $500 Scholarship for Pre-registration, April 17/18

UAM500University of Arkansas at Monticello fall 2023 new first-time freshmen and new transfer students will receive a $500 scholarship if they pre-register for fall 2023 classes on April 17 or April 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and attend UAM during the fall 2023 semester. Terms and conditions may apply.

In-person registration is recommended, but over-the-phone registration is also available.

Students must RSVP to reserve a time to pre-register for classes in order to be eligible for the scholarship. RSVP on the UAM Admissions webpage or here.

No program will take place during pre-registration. Students will be able to pre-register for classes and have the option to visit any office related to attending school in the fall. Parents and legal guardians are welcome.

Seven University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) students won academic awards at the Phi Beta Lambda-Collegiate Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference that was held in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 31 through April 1, 2023.

All seven UAM students who participated in the statewide competition won awards in their respective events. Five students took first place in at least one event. Two students were double majors in accounting and business administration; one student was a double major in biology and chemistry; and four students were majors in either business administration or accounting.  (more…)
