Since posting yesterday‘s lead story, we have since found out that the city has an unrelated millage tax that is designated solely for the retired firemen’s pension fund.
That millage is set at .4, and is not affected by the change to the city millage as approved by the council on Tuesday night.
The assessors office received several calls, Wednesday, and confirmed that the city’s total millage is now 2.9, including the fireman’s retirement fund.
