Recently, when I fired up my computer to work on MonticelloLive projects, I went to check my email and realized that my Yahoo email account had been hacked. When I discovered the hack, I was upset to realize that everyone in my address book had received an email from my account with a suspicious link. The email contained no text in the subject line and no text other than the link in the body of the email.

Earlier this Christmas season, around 1 PM on Sunday afternoon, Monticello Police Department officers were called to the report of a shoplifting incident at Walmart, where the stolen items reportedly included a Christmas tree and decorations.

In the midst of Drew County’s severe thunderstorm, Saturday around 1 pm, The driver of this westbound General Motors SUV lost control of the vehicle in the wet roadway near the Sixteen Section area of Highway 278 East.

Monticello’s Fire and Police Departments responded to a structure fire, in the trailer park just off of Highway 425 S. at the intersection with Westgate Drive.

After a 10-2 hung jury, with no hope for a sentencing verdict , Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson will decide the length of time (if any) Bryant Childs will serve in the Drew County Detention Center .
