2 Warren men died at the scene of a rollover crash on Highway 278 E., on Monday, September 5, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and they were ejected.

On Friday, September 9, a local lady died from injuries she sustained, when she turned in front of an 18 wheeler, on 425 N. in Monticello.

Monday, September 19, a Drew County man was killed on 425 S., near the race track, when he crossed the center line, striking an oncoming vehicle.

Monday night, a 32 -year-old pedestrian was struck by a car and finally injured, on 425, south of UAM. 

2 reasons not to pass a stopped school bus-1. The children. – 2. The Troopers.

On weekday afternoons, around 3:30, school parents can depend on seeing Monticello Police officers helping with traffic around the school.

According to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force, a joint investigation between the 10th Drug Task Force and the McGehee Police Department resulted in the arrest of two McGehee women early this morning (September 14) on various drug charges. The two women are mother and daughter.

Special Judge David Laser, of Jonesboro, a special judge appointed by Administrator of the Courts of the state, filled the judge’s seat, after all 5 local circuit judges recused, since Jim Hall had sued them all, last year.

When court resumed, plaintiff’s attorney Chris Burks asked Hall (who was now on the witness stand) when he became aware of the warrant for the hot check. He responded, “around a year ago.”

The northbound lane of Highway 425 S., near  the Conrad Street intersection, was blocked for quite a while,  around 4 PM Friday, following a two vehicle collision involving a big-rig and a Lincoln Town Car.

As Monticello’s mayor and city government have been questioned for misappropriation and misspending, with rumors of corruption,  2 council members, who also serve on the budget committee, were searching through city records, Thursday, in the council room, without notifying media of their meeting.
