The track at Tyler will have an area set up to transport emergency supplies to the tornado victims at Canton Texas, which is nearby.

As AHTD  painting/ striping crews were marking N. Gabbert St. near Jefferson, one of the work trucks drove into a nearby ditch.

No one seem to be injured, but the “caution truck” carrying the sign that said “expect delays,” seemed extra- appropriate.

This week JA of Monticello is celebrating National Junior Auxiliary Week and would like to take a moment to thank Drew County, corporate sponsors, and local businesses for their support and contributions throughout the year that go toward funding service projects that help better the lives of the children of Drew County.

The National Junior Auxiliary slogan is “Care Today-Character Tomorrow”, and Junior Auxiliary of Monticello truly appreciates everything that’s done to help them hold true to that slogan.

The UAM College of Technology-McGehee will award certificates of proficiency and technical certificates this summer to the first graduates of the school’s Diesel Training Academy located south of Monticello on U.S. Highway 425.
