All local enforcement agencies were out, patrolling Monticello and Drew County streets and highways, last night.

Tuesday afternoon, around 4 PM, agents from the Tenth Judicial Drug Task Force were working in an undercover capacity, where they had set up a meeting to purchase illegal firearms from a subject. (more…)

The Monticello Police Department is urging drivers to buckle up during the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort. Friday, members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish and Reggie’s Towing service responded to a call at Lake Wallace in reference to what was believed to be a vehicle in the lake.

This was determined by a fisherman and his son who picked up the image on their live scan equipment. Once on scene it was confirmed that it was a vehicle and it was removed from Lake Wallace. The vehicle in which is believed to have been down there for several months did not come back stolen. However, further investigation is underway.

Monday afternoon, around 3 PM, Monticello Police received a phone call from a female caller on E. Jackson St., reporting that her brother was in a nearby yard, and she believed he was deceased. (more…)
