A 42 year old Monticello woman was arrested by Monticello Police, Tuesday night, after they responded to Jenkins Quick Check on HWY 278 East, to the report of a hit & run driver knocking a gas-pump onto another car.
A former city council member, who was also a candidate for the mayor’s position, will be in District Court, next week, on charges stemming from “harrassing” actions, statements, and texts, that he allegedly made or sent to 2 female UAM students.

Early Friday morning, two suspects used a concrete block to enter the front window at the Leprechaun’s Pawn Shop, on West Gaines St.

The local nurse, who was being sought in connection with the alleged April illegal abortion of a local woman was arrested Friday, on a warrant out of the Drew County Circuit Court.
A local man was arrested, Thursday, on the probable charge of sexual indecency of a child, for events that took place, Sunday.

Victoria Pedraza leaving Courthouse after her 20 year sentence for Permitting Abuse of a Minor, which led to the death of her Daughter.
She has appealed, arguing that the circuit court judge erred by (1) requiring her to register as a sex offender, (2) engaging in inappropriate conduct during her sentencing trial, and (3) not disqualifying himself from presiding over her sentencing trial (which was held with a jury).

Last March, a 19-year-old Monticello female was charged with filing a false police report against a young man, causing his arrest.
During the investigation which led to the recent arrest of a Winchester mother of 4, Drew County authorities were informed by the 14 year old victim, not only did she smoke meth with her mother, but also her mother’s boyfriend, who also tried to sexually assault her.

Drew County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Wilmar, Tuesday night, in reference to a local man being stabbed.
A Monticello man, recently convicted for the first degree murder of a young Warren woman, has agreed to a plea bargain of 15 years on the charge of gun possession at the time of the murder investigation.

Last Friday at approximately 5:40 PM Sheriff Mark Gober was traveling down Highway 172 when he observed a white Chevrolet Dually pickup parked partially in the northbound lane with the rear of the vehicle in the grass and the front of the vehicle touching the center line of the highway. As Sheriff Gober approached the vehicle it began traveling northbound.
