Regardless of which way voters feel about the library’s 10% request, the bigger concern is that our state government (DFA?) is not responsible enough to stop a $5 million tax WITHOUT OVERFILLING THE BUCKET BY #1.1 MILLION.

At last months quorum court meeting, the justices asked about Entergy’s presence in the community, and their storm emergency reaction. Entergy’s Tandee White attended Monday’s meeting, to answer their questions.

Due to govermental regulations, our current 911 system must be repoaced by the end of the year.
Currently 95% of 911 calls are placed by cell phones.
The estimated cost will be around $213,000.

Judge Akin will compile a list of specific building repair needs, and the Quroum Court will discuss the list at next month’s meeting.

The county courthouse is current undergoing “tuck point maintenance” and mortar repair, as is required on builing that age.
Also Judge Robert Akin was recently seen cleaning the front of the courthouse, in preparation for the Memorial Day service. (The photo was just too good to pass up.)
