 According to Judge Robert Akin, the  Drew County burn ban has been lifted, affective this morning. Residents are reminded to use responsible caution when burning.

Due to schedule conflicts, County Judge Robert Akin has announced that Drew County quorum court will be held at the Justice Building in the old library on October 21, 6 PM.

The public is invited to attend.

Due to required maintenance and repair, the Drew County Courthouse elevator will be out of service, until further notice.

Last week, the Winchester City Council held their regular monthly meeting, which was expected to focus on the proposed contract/agreement to provide safe sewer service to the area.

Emotions ran high throughout the short meeting, which was ended, before any official business took place, as Drew County Sheriff Deputies were seemingly called in to keep the peace. (more…)

It is estimated that each of the estimated 500 residents annexed into the city will reduce county property tax receipts by $13.26, each.

Drew County has opened a temporary Storm Debris Dumpsite, on HWY 35 East.

This dumpsite is for TREES & LIMBS ONLY (vegetation only).

Enter through the Forestry entrance, shown below, and you will be led to the dump site, behind the industrial complex.

Open Now-Friday, 8 am-5 pm.
