The Jr. Auxiliary of Monticello made a donation to the local Imagination Library of $5000.

This means that the local chapter of the group can soon start shipping books in Monticello and Drew County.

The launch for Imagination Library is scheduled for TODAY, May 15 1-5 pm for parents to sign drew co kids up. Any child under 5 years of age that lives in Drew County is eligible.

The Launch  Will be held in the main office lobby of the Monticello Medical Clinic.

NAACP local Branch #6042 hosted a Baccalaureate Ceremony on May 11^th, 2019 to present its local scholarships. NAACP Drew County Branch, reported “It was our goal to provide a scholarship opportunity for 2019 Seniors who attend Drew Central and Monticello High Schools. (more…)

Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation Governing Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 3:30 p.m., at the regularly scheduled board meeting.

The meeting will be held at The Southeast Arkansas Community Action Complex- located at 1208 North Myrtle St., Warren AR  71671

The meeting is open to the public.  SEACAC serves Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha and Drew Counties in Southeast Arkansas.

Robert B. Gibson, III today announced his plans to run for Circuit Judge, Division 3, 10^th District. The 10^th District encompasses Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, and Drew Counties. If elected, Gibson commits to serving impartially and with integrity.  The current Division 3 Circuit Judge, Robert Bynum Gibson, Jr. is retiring at the end of his term.

Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation will to conduct community meetings for SEACAC Board Members for Ashley and Chicot Counties.

 The meeting to elect a board member for the Ashley County Private- Sector for SEACAC board will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the Ashley County Courthouse Annex Building, in the Conference Room in Hamburg, Arkansas. (more…)

In recognition of Foster Care Awareness Month, a Proclamation Event will be held on May 1, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Monticello Town Square. Participants will include Senator Eddie Cheatham, Pastor Alford Branch, and Representative LeAnne Burch. Proclamations will be given by Mayor Paige Chase and Senator Cheatham will stand in for Judge Robert Akin. (more…)
