Park Tipton, PT, DPT, was awarded the professional designation of board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Tipton is a physical therapist at South Arkansas Rehabilitation in Monticello.
Al-Anon meets on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm at 1st Presbyterian Church, 821 N. Main, Monticello.
Monticello’s Alcoholics Anonymous Winners Group meets every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 836 N. Hyatt Street.
They also meet Tues & Friday 12:00p.m. Till 1:00 p.m.

Crayton Harris got his first motorcycle around the age of 1 1/2 yr old. He started riding a Honda 50 with training wheels at the age of 3. Since then at the age of 6 he has only grown to be an awesome motocross racer.

SEACAC Board Meeting Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation Governing Board of Directors will meet in their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 20th, 2016.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be held at the SEACAC Complex located at 1208 North Myrtle Street in Warren.
The meeting is open to the public.
SEACAC serves Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha and Drew Counties in Southeast Arkansas.
Harrod Law Office announced this week that Christian W. Harrod has accepted an associate position in the firm, joining his father, S. Reid Harrod, Jr., and uncle, David W. Harrod, in the practice.

Park Tipton, PT, DPT, of Monticello, was recently named by the Board of Directors of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a 2016 recipient of the Emerging Leader Award.
Dr. L. R. Tyson was recently recognized as a clinical specialist in sports physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Dr. Tyson becomes just the ninth board-certified sports clinical specialist among the over 2,000 physical therapists in Arkansas.
SeaArk Boats announces the appointment of Chris Yaney as National Sales Manager.
Chris had been employed by SeaArk from 2006 to 2012 as Parts and Warranty Manager. He left SeaArk to pursue a job as District Sales Manager at Scott Petroleum. Chris’ decision to return to SeaArk comes on the heels of several big changes for the company. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) today announced that Mainline Health System Inc. of Star City, AR has received NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long?term, participative relationships.
The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to improve care, improve patients’ experience of care and reduce costs. Medical homes foster ongoing partnerships between patients and their personal clinicians, instead of approaching care as the sum of episodic office visits. Each patient’s care is overseen by clinician-led care teams that coordinate treatment across the health care system. Research shows that medical homes can lead to higher quality and lower costs, and can improve patient and provider reported experiences of care. (more…)
Arkansans suffering dental pain and discomfort will find much needed relief at the tenth annual Arkansas Mission of Mercy (ArMOM) on May 20th-21st at the University of Arkansas Student Center in Monticello, Arkansas.
Volunteers of all types are needed including hundreds of general volunteers and health professionals such as dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and pharmacists.
Monticello’s Tree Board will be leading a combined Arbor Day and Tree City USA celebration at Lake Monticello’s Hunger Run Access on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Activities begin at 11:00 AM with planting and mulching trees. At noon, there will be a Proclamation by Mayor Tucker, a poem read by 4-H, and tree facts given by local scouts. Hot dogs or hamburgers will be served at 12:30 PM. From 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, family and children nature activities are planned, along with a Tree Clinic to help with tree questions.

Monticello Economic Development Corporation director Nita McDaniel and UAM Upward Pre-College Program director Tawana Greene-Jones are participating in the ACT Work Ready Communities (ACT WRC) Academy, which is being funded and organized by the Workforce Alliance of Southeast Arkansas. The Workforce Alliance of Southeast Arkansas is a UAM based regional workforce education and training program.
