According to Arkansas State Police, around 2:20 PM, Wednesday, a Monticello woman lost her life in a car crash on HWY 278 Bypass, near the Highway 35 intersection.

Peggy Hallman, 67 of Monticello, was traveling eastbound in her Ford pick-up, as a 27-year-old Hot Springs man was traveling west in his Jeep in heavy rains rainy weather.  The Ford lost control and hydroplaned, crossing the centerline into the oncoming traffic.

both occupants of the Ford were ejected.

The injured were taken to Baptist,  Children’s, and Drew Memorial for medical treatment.
