The MEDC is working with the Monticello-Drew County Chamber of Commerce toward planning their Annual Awards Banquet.

The MEDC is now taking nominations for Outstanding Young Leader.

Please submit your nominee, soon. The candidate should be 18 – 35 years of age, active in the community and exhibit leadership qualities at the highest standard.

Please include a description of the individuals background, examples of their leadership roles, and an explanation as to why this individual should receive this recognition.

The deadline to submit nominations is February 10th at noon.

Drew Central graduate Jessica Faith (Wishard) has just released a video to her song “without a fight”.

It has been a year since Jessica became a “GRAMMY Amplifier 2014 Winner”.

Since that time, the Grammy’s sent her to South by Southwest in Austin, TX to open for superstar Aloe Blacc, and filming a professional music video in Nashville.

Glen Dabney, of Eagle Forestry Service, has been appointed to the airport commission, replacing Charles Savage.

The decision is expected to be approved by the City Council, next week.

Construction of a new commercial builing on HWY 425 South, north of the Old Warren Road intersection has made obvious progress, in the past week.
