Thank you to the voters of Drew and Ashley counties for your tremendous and gratifying support in the November general election! I am honored and humbled by your faith in me. Well, it’s that time of year again; the time of year when we have to try to figure out which way to set the clocks.

This is the week when most parts of the country will turn their clocks BACK. So if it was 2 a.m., it becomes 1 a.m.

Enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

Local attorney Cliff Gibson, recently hired by the City Council to deal with the depths of confusion involved in the $10,000,000 water improvement project with Siemens, has hired an engineer to work on the project with him.

Attached is the letter he sent to the City Council members.

Also included in the letter were the selected firm’s vitae and list of qualifications.

Following a July incident over the location of a trash dumpster, a Drew County woman complained to the Quorum Court, last month, about Judge Robert Akin.
Monday night, her father followed suit.

A Drew County hunter was seriously injured, around 9:30, Tuesday morning, when the ATV he was riding collided with a tractor.

The 3rd annual “Dancing with the Monticello Stars” was held Tuesday night by the Southeast Arkansas Health Foundation, raising $30,847 for Drew Memorial Hospitas projects.

Last year , the foundation contributed $100,000 in donations to be used in the oncology dept., and a $15,000 donation to purchase a fetal monitor, among other items.

Around 9:30, Friday morning, professional home movers were re-locating this house, (formerly located next to Sav-a-Lot) to it’s new location, on Winchester Road.

Police shut down McCloy Street, to eliminate sharp turns, and prevent oncoming traffic and potentional accidents.

The photos above show some of the events that stood in their way, such as hanging wires, stop signs, and the guy who ignored the police road-block.

Brittany Hodges 17 of Monticello, daughter of Allen & Brenda Chavis models for Bridal Savoir Faire hosted by Compassion Fashion Events & Designs on September 28, 2014 in Howell, AR.

This event took donations for The Glass Slipper Closet which is a non profit organization that provided used & formal gowns for young ladies who wish to attend prom or other formal events at no charge.

The Drew County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Louisiana man, Wednesday, who wasa being sought on a $1,000,000 warrant.
