The Monticello Schools Choral Department proudly presented their Christmas Concert for grades 6-12, on Thursday, December 10,in the Monticello Middle School Auditorium.

After city voters rejected the sales tax that would build a commmunity event cener, on Tuesday, the Advertising & Promotion Commission has nearly half a million dollars, and nothing to spend it on.

Drew County Circuit Clerk Beverly Burks of Wilmar has announced her candidacy for re-election in the 2016 general election. Burks, a Democrat, is currently serving her first year in office.

Prior to taking office in January, Burks worked two years as a deputy clerk in the Drew County Clerk’s office and served as editor of the Advance-Monticellonian for 14 years.
