Leaders of the MEDC attended Saturday’s public meeting of the Monticello Citizens for Better Government meeting, in their effort to provide their views and explanation of the recent opinions expressed by the MCBG.
These videos contain the majority of the meeting; however the land use section was lost in production.
It dealt with the process of nuisance lots being reported, notified, condemned, approved by city council, liens places against the property, land being forfeited for sale, and then purchased by the MEDC.
Once again, neither side convinced the other side of anything, but both views were well stated.
The Monticello Citizens for Better Goverment held their first public meeting, Saturday, at the library.
Over 15 local residents attended, and were encouraged to gather signatures to get these proposed changes on the November general electin ballot.
These videos include their entire presentation. The next meetings will be held, this Saturday, in the Library meeting room, at 10:30 am and then at noon
The public is encouraged to attend.
