Last Friday, Deputy Allen Edwards conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Hwy 278 West near Wilmar, where 2 back seat passengers, Marcus Finks and Devonta Sterling both of Warren, had bench warrants from different counties. (more…)

A piece of equipment inside a Monticello substation caused an outage to about 3,500 customers about 9 a.m. this morning.
Crews are testing the equipment for damage. The current estimated restoration time for all customers is 5 p.m.
Cooling centers are available. Those who need refuge from the heat can visit the University Center at University of Arkansas at Monticello or the New Life Assembly church at 1664 Highway 425 South
According to Police Chief Jason Akers, on June 16, Jon Blake Bodiford, a 44 year old Warren man, was stopped for traffic violations by MPD’s K9 officer. (more…)

On June 16, Deputy Allen Edwards conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Hwy 278 West, near Wilmar, AR. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brandon Johnson of Warren.
Deputy Edwards ran a check of Johnson through dispatch and was advised Johnson had a no bond bench warrant issued from Drew County Circuit Court. Johnson was placed under arrest.
Deputy Chris Austin conducted an arrest search of Johnson before placing him in a patrol vehicle. Deputy Austin located a clear plastic bag containing a dollar bill with a crystal like substance inside believed to be meth. Johnson appeared before Judge Crews Puryear for a first appearance and his bond was set at $2500.00 commercial bond.
