Although documented information is scarce, in the case, official felony charges have been filed against 2 former members of the local charity funded organization.

On 8-1-2024 Jarion Robinson, who is 21 years of age, was convicted by a Drew County jury for the murder of Jkyron Hines of Warren, that occurred in Monticello in October 2022.

Robinson was sentenced to a total of 73 years on the charges of 1st degree murder (40 years), terroristic act (30 years), and battery 2nd degree (3 years) with all charges to run consecutively.

At approximately 2 AM, Wednesday morning, Monticello firefighters were paged out to a house fire on Luke’s Country Lane, just off of Bowser Road.

It is believed that the fire started on the back patio, spread through the back door an into the attic, before doing most of it damage in the attic area.

The residents were home at the time, and were able to escape without injury.

Minutes before 10 AM, Tuesday, reports of a fully engulfed GMC Yukon were called into Monticello dispatch from Highway 133 N., Wilmar.

DCSO, OEM, Clear Creek fire department, and Reggie’s Wrecker responded to the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Monday afternoon, at approximately 3:20 PM, there was a two vehicle collision in the intersection of Highway 278 Eastbound, where it emerges into Highway 425 south.

Vehicles involved were a Jaguar and a Chevy Trailblazer.

No injuries were reported. MPD and Rangel Wrecker responded.

Around 3:05, Monday afternoon, the driver of this F150 Ford pick up came out of the west corner store, on 278, and found his truck across the highway in a ditch, from where he had left it running.

It is believed the truck slipped back into reverse gear, backing across the highway, while miraculously, avoiding oncoming traffic, before coming to a stop in the westbound ditch.

Obviously, no injuries were reported.
