The Desha/Drew County Cattlemen’s Association met on Thursday June 18th at 7:00 pm at the UAM Ag Building. Vice President Nita Carpenter opened the meeting and led the membership in the pledge of allegiance. Following the pledge Mr. Greg Montgomery Blessed the meal. Commercial Bank sponsored the meal and producers got to enjoy cheeseburgers fresh off the grill. The Desha/Drew County Cattlemen’s Association also provided a delicious 4th of July themed cake for an early 4th of July Celebration.  The American Flag cake featured Old Glory and read “God Bless the USA and Cattlemen’s”.

Following supper and dessert, Todd Smith with Commercial Bank talked to producers about the choices consumers have at Commercial Bank as well as the friendly staff ready to help. Dr. James Mitchell with UofA gave members a market update. He covered topics from the new world screwworm, herd build back, and consumers as well as their effects on the beef market. The meeting was adjourned at 9:07 pm and followed by fellowship.
