On October 7, 2025, a Drew County jury convicted Terry Laron Gragg Jr., of Monticello, of Delivery of more than 10 grams of Methamphetamine, following a jury trial.

The conviction stems from a controlled drug buy conducted on February 4, 2025, by agents of the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force. Agents James Slaughter, Ben Michel, and Tad Huntsman met with a confidential informant at an undisclosed location in Drew County. After confirming the informant had no drugs or money, agents provided him with $200 in cash and undercover cameras. The informant went directly to Gragg’s residence, where he purchased 28 grams of methamphetamine.

The informant returned approximately 18 minutes later. Video footage confirmed the informant traveled directly to Gragg’s residence, where Gragg exchanged the cash for a bag containing 27.99 grams of methamphetamine. The informant then returned directly to the agents without making any stops.

Following the jury’s guilty verdict, Judge Gibson sentenced Gragg to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, to run consecutively to a 20-year sentence Gragg was already serving due to a revocation of a suspended imposition of sentence.

Deputy Prosecutor Kelley Fortenberry stated, “This conviction reflects the continued efforts of the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to combat the distribution of illegal narcotics in Southeast Arkansas.”  Methamphetamine distribution poses serious risks to public health and safety. By removing a known distributor from the community, the sentence directly reduces the availability of harmful substances. It serves as a deterrent to other would-be dealers in Drew County.
