Update- Star City Man with Federal Warrant Taken into Custody, After Shooting Standoff

According to the Star City Police Department, on Wednesday, September 22, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Star City Police and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 205 Park Street in reference to a “shots fired” call.
While investigating the incident, Christobal Palomerez-Heredia, 43, a Mexican immigrant, began shooting at responding officers.
Palomerez-Heredia is a convicted felon and has an active federal arrest warrant.
Star City police requested the assistance of the Arkansas State Police.
After a standoff, State Police were able to take Palomerez-Heredia in custody.
Palomerez-Heredia was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained while breaking glass during the standoff.
Star City Police are still investigating the incident.
