According to sources at the scene, around 3 PM, the driver of a Chevy truck, was traveling west on Highway 138, and failed to stop as it crossed Highway 65/165 at Winchester.

The pick-up reportedly collided with a southbound Cadillac Escalade, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway.

No reports of injuries were available at the scene, but reporters were told a helicopter was requested to transport the injured.

ASP Trooper Cross is investigating the accident, assisted by Drew and Desha County Deputies, working the scene’s traffic disruption.

Sources report that the Chevy had been pursued by Desha County officers, but that the pursuit had been terminated several minutes before the collision.

Whaley Towing, of Dumas, removed both vehicles.
