Parking Lot Assault Leads to Arrest

At approximately 7:15 PM, Thursday evening, Drew County deputies were dispatched to a disturbance on Loafers Ln., located on Highway 35 E.
Shortly, thereafter, they were notified that the suspect and another party had left the residence.
Around 9:30, dispatch received a phone call from a party who believed they saw a person with a weapon outside of the hospital emergency room. They suspect did not enter the hospital, nor was anyone in the hospital threatened in anyway.
Monticello Police and Drew County deputies quickly arrived and took Tim Hoover, age 58, into custody. Hoover, also named as the person at the first call, had a knife in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Hoover was then transported to the Drew County jail and is facing charges of 3rd aggravated assault, and is being held pending investigation. Other charges may be added.
