Additional County Road Closings, this afternoon include Able’s Creek Rd, Old Hwy 65 & Selma-Collins Rd (at highway 35 East), and Gees Landing.

Basically, all road conditions are “underwater, in places,”  according to local authorities.

All schools announced last night, that they would be closed on Thursday.   Please take that as a sign that the Southeast Arkansas drivers should stay home, for their own safety, unless necessary.

Late last night, we talked to Drew County Judge Robert Akin, who asked folks to try to avoid using county roads, since many of them have sections that are covered by flowing water,  and the locations will change throughout the night.

State highways that have sections closed include…

278 East, near McGehee Break,

138 East, multiple sections,

35 East,  from inside the city limits into Drew County,

172, west of Longview,

16 Section Road,

Florence Road,  near Cut Off Creek.

South end of South Wilmar Rd.

Old Warren Road, gravel section.

Lacey- New Hope Roaf

Old Dermott Road

In Ashley County,  HWY 133 North near Fountain Hill is closed.

HWY 425 South of Hamburg, around state line is closed.
