DWI 4 Driver Gets 2 Year Sentence

A 44-year-old Monticello man accepted a plea bargain, Monday, to serve a two-year sentence in CCC for his fourth DWI offense in the past five years.
According to court records, Billy Cecil McDaniel was stopped by a Drew County Sheriffs Deputy on April 21 near the post office, following a report of a dangerous driver on highway 425 North.
When asked if he’d been drinking, McDaniel told the deputy, “To tell you the truth, I’ve had way too much to be driving. ”
McDaniels other DWIs were issued by the Arkansas State Police and Jefferson and Lincoln County Sheriffs departments.
The two-year sentence he agreed to in the plea bargain will be served at a state Community Corrections Center, instead of ADC, where it is believed he will receive additional treatment.

I am very glad that this young man id off the streets and I’m extemely glad that he is going to get the treatment that he needs. Alcoholism is a disease and with treatment he can be cured.
