MFD Moves Into New Fire Station
October 21st, 2013 by Joe Burgess
The Monticello Fire Dept. has moved into its new Central Fire Station on Wood Street.
The new station has 3 bays for fire trucks, and even holds the long ladder truck, which was stored outside at the UAM station.
2 bedrooms, a training room, and a kitchen are also in the new facility, as well as a washer and dryer, to wash turn-outs (external firefighting uniforms).
New computers, software, and much improved office space are also a much needed improvement over their previous 1930’s facility.
MFD has 11 full-time and 14 volunteers.
The old structure will be renovated to ad office space to the Monticello Police Dept.
