BURN BAN Issued for Drew County

According to Judge Robert Akin, a Burn Ban is now in effect for Drew County, since January 28.
Judge Akin til MLive, “Due to dry conditions and extreme fire hazard all persons in Drew County are directed to refrain from outdoor burning until further notice.
The cooperation of everyone in Drew County is urgently needed to prevent destruction and injury by outdoor fires during this time.

There are way too many people burning leaves in close proximity to neighbors homes!!!! You should not be able to burn leaves or anything else in a residential area.
I concur with Dianne, it’s pretty IGNORANT and ICONSIDERATE to have a massive fire in your yard with billowing smoke going into your neighbors home. When I have leaves in my yard they are raked up and bagged and disposed of at the waste facility on old warren road. If you do not have the means to transport the bags you can arrange with the city to have the bags picked up at your house, which has been stated on monticellolive before.
